Development Communication and Leadership in Africa serves as a standard textbook, a reference guide, a repository, and a resource platform for graduate and undergraduate students in colleges and universities where relevant discussions on development are held. The purpose of this textbook is not to discount the continued negative effects of imperialism and neo-colonialism, but to readily understand that for Africa to reverse the pendulum of underdevelopment, there is an urgent need for leaders to take responsibility for their actions. From the understanding of the arguments presented in this textbook, the development of Africa should be futuristic in nature and must address issues that affect the people from the grassroots level, sensitize citizens as to what development means, reduce poverty, and increase healthy living and affordable healthcare platforms along with nutrition, career opportunities, jobs, and most importantly, education and income-earning opportunities for every citizen
